Losing RAM after system restore!!!!

After a system restore was done on my computer using the Recovery Disk my system showed my RAM was 960. Then it shows it as 958. What is happening? What was done wrong? Nothing has been installed on the system yet as far as updates and such. And nothing has been changed. Is this fixable? Was it restored incorrectly? PLEASE HELP SOON!!

There's nothing wrong with your computer. This is caused by your Physical memory being shared for video memory. -- Quite normal. My laptop does the same thing.

But the question is that it did not do this for the last 4 months. Not until I used the disk yesterday. It has stayed at a steady 1GB RAM until now.

Where are you getting this number from, Computer properties or task manager performance?
In computer properties I have 2.0GB. In task manager it shows 2038MB installed RAM.

Well apparently after I installed the 64 updates I needed (one was drivers and such) it corrected it self and again read 1.00GB so

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! WOOHOO
