mycomputer swithces off when there is powercut even with ups ups allows restarting rather than uninterrupted supply

Hi.

i use mercury ups.

when there is a power cut, my computer is first switching off.

then it is restarting using the back up of ups. (the purpose of ups is unattended as i cant save my documents.)

i got it examined by a local electronics guy, he says the battery is good, but there could be a problem with the relay.

Look forward for your expert comments and solutions.

if the local expert says its a bad relay, I would go with that. either that or the computer uses to much power for the UPS.
