I have a dell 270 printer that I can not get to work.

I have downloaded the driver for it r80999 it recognized a new device when I plugged it in but could not find the software for it. I have windows xp professional and I am using a USB port to connect it.

Could it be 720 instead of 270?

Did a CD come with the printer?

It is a 720 sorry. I have down loaded, unzipped and restarted my PC, still can not use the printer says software not found.

I got it to work I had to point the install wizard right to the driver software I would not find it if you let it browse automatically.
