So, obviously no harm done. Unless of course something's going to happen later today. |

it is possible that one of the antivirus guys created it to drum up sales, but do you really think that they would think they would get away with it? the FTC would shut them down in a minute

If you waited til today to get tin foil, well, you waited too long. Mine was in place fully one week before today. It'll be safe to remove in about another week.

The media thrives on [acronym="Fear Uncertainty Doubt"]FUD[/acronym]. The worm-that-shall-not-be-named-anymore-lest-you-be-struck-down-with-lightning-from-above, certainly provided a great opportunity for that. And as usual, everyone played along.

Using the tin foil hat, as depicted above is a mind control hat. See [acronym="Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie"]AFDB[/acronym]

Well, you are all still alive, I see.
Nice write up Grinler. I particularly liked the F-Secure description you linked to. Thanks! |

My money is still on this just being an April Fools joke. Tin foil messes up my hair.

My Kids used it to get me a Beauty for April Fool's Day actually. QUOTE This has to rank with the Best of April Fool's Day Pranks and actually happened to me this year. Because of my Health problems, I often sleep for a couple of days at a time, so rely on my Computer Time Clock to be sure just what day it really is. My Kids altered the Computer Time Clock to 1st March, 2009, which was a Sunday? I never noticed it was 1st March, just that it was Sunday, when I thought it was Wednesday. I got very confused and went looking for Viruses. Meantime the Kids were quitely, My turn next year! -------------------- It is not what you are, just what you have been, that is what you get Judged at. (Abacus)

News links of result of Conficker
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/securityf...rss=securityfix Obviously the United States is least infected. Apparently in eastern Asia, large amounts of near 50% of the total infections were found. Overall, the worm danger itself was low, because Microsoft patched way back in October. Also, Conficker.C was not the one that was the big deal. Security analysts, like me, saw Conficker.D early last month (March 4) and are taking appropriate action in to investigating the worm. See my BC Blog for more info |

Certainly no signs of it in this Part of the World, adjoining Asia, except for the few Pranks pulled as happened to me. Maybe others may have more Information, later, on it? I think is was a Huge Joke played on the World or at worst a Wake Up Call to the Industry in General, to get their Act together and realise that others are just as capable of doing nasty things from ANY Country, with, as has been seen, little hope of actually them being tracked down, even with guessing? See where M$ offered a Bounty for them? That really tells us a different side to it all, why offer a Bounty if it could be tracked with M$'s vast resources and back up Technicials from all over the World? Edit, BTW We have a Huge Surplus of Army Issued Tin Foil Hats, anyone wants one you can get them for free! Aussies haven't needed them since Bob Hawke became our Leader. We think he came down to join us? http://primeministers.naa.gov.au/fastfacts...pmSelectName=23 This post has been edited by Abacus 7: Apr 2 2009, 07:15 AM -------------------- It is not what you are, just what you have been, that is what you get Judged at.
