1 IDE DVD RW and 1 SATA DVD RW how do I configure this

The models are liteon ihas422 and ihap322. I cannot get them both to work.

My MOBO is INTEL DG45ID with only sata connectors so I purchased a ide to usb converter and an external ide to usb converter and tried both power sources, external and tower.

Any suggestions?

I notice your motherboard doesn't have any IDE on the motherboard, and I have had horrible luck getting IDE to SATA adaptors to work. but in theory, set the IDE drive to master or cable select (I would do master) plug in the adaptor, some adaptors have a switch for sata I or sata II I believe, plug everything in and install the drivers for the drive, and in theory it should work. if, like in my case it doesn't, I don't know what to tell ya.

Media Center: Motherboard: Gigabyte mp61p-S3, Processor: AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+, Memory: 6 gigs Patriot DDR2 800, Video: Saphire 4850, Storage: 500 gig Hitachi, PSU: OCZ Fatal1ty 550 watt modular PSU, OS: Windows 7 Ultimate.

IDE/USB adapters work great with hard drives from my experience. They don't work worth a d..mn with IDE/ATAPI optical drives. Its a hit or miss proposition. Make sure drive jumpers are "Master" or "CS".
