Hello I built my computer myself and i am having problems with my computer booting up. It will boot up just fine with the CD Drive disconnected from the mother board but when I hook it back up the machine just stays on the screen on boot up where the bars go across the screen for windows when it is loading. I am running windows vista home premium. If anybody has any ideas please help thanks david

Make sure that you check your JUMPER settings. The jumper is a small plastic tab on the back of your CD drive. If you are having trouble with it, try setting it to Master, or Cable Select. The settings of what pins it should be on should be labeled on the sticker ontop of your drive.

If that doesn't work and you just recently built the computer, Send the drive back under warranty

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
Do not send me PMs with problems that should be posted in the forums. Keep it in the forums, so everyone benefits
