This issue is all over the Internet, yet I still can't figure out how to resolve it. Maybe it is time for a little personalized help, if anyone is willing to offer it!

So, I have 6 usb 2.0 ports, but whenever I plug something into it, I get the "this device can perform faster" messege.

I have recently reinstalled my OS, so my guess is that I don't have the USB 2.0 drivers installed, however no matter how much looking I do, I can't find them for the life of me. Microsoft tells me it should update automatically, but this hasn't happened.

Here are my computer Specs:

Windows XP SP3
Motherboard (according to CPU-Z):
Manufactured by: Dell Inc.
Model: OCU395
Chipset: ATI RS400/RC400/RC410
Southbridge: ATI SB600

Hopefully that is all you need! If not, I'll get you any other info that you may need!

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Have you tried to update the drivers via device manger? Click on the USB ports one by one and then click Update Driver, for each?

Well, No, I hadn't tried that. And it looks like it fixed it too!

That was easy enough! Thanks so much! Hopefully it did fix it! If you don't hear back, assume the best! ;)
