Hi, I am really stressing out with this issue I am having with installing my Vista ultimate OS. Ive used this cd many time on my other 3 pc and have never thad this issue.
I am currently building a new system for a buddy of mine and this is the error message i continue to get.. The installation goes through all the stages, but it hangs up on the final stage and after about 30 minutes i get this message..
Windows could not cinfigure one or more system components, to install windows restart compute and restart installation.
Any advise on what could be causing this to happen.. Thanks for all the help in advance.

I had something similar happen to me. I was installing XP on one of my old house computers and it wouldn't let me do it. Said that I had already installed XP (3) times already, and if I thought this was in error- call this number. Not sure how this could happen since the other three installs were on old, non internet connected computers. I know I should have started a new thread on this, but it wan't a big deal to me. I am just trying to figure out how the OS knew I had already installed the system three times since none of the computers have burners or are connected to the internet.
I guess if your problem is the same as mine when they answer yours it will explain it to me.

I know you're out there, I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid. You're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin. I'm going to hang up this phone, and then I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world ... without you. A world without rules and controls, without borders or boundaries. A world where anything is possible. Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you.

That is what happened with me and XP. The 4th install didn't go through, until I called Microsoft and went through an automated system that asked me if I was installing it because of a change in hardware. I answered yes, and I was given a new unlock key- which allowed me to finish the install.

Thanks,
