Go to device manager and look for a listing for the Realtek or another sound. If there is a yellow mark next to it try to Enable the device. If that doesn't work then try updating the drivers using the ones on the MBoard CD.

If no listing is found in Device Manager then boot your computer into the BIOS screens and verify the integrated sound is Enabled there or not. Save and exit.

vista to xp,

You will need to go to the support site for your computer and in the download section, see if there is a XP driver available for your sound
If there isn't one, you will need to go to the manufacturer of the sound chip and try to locate one

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
Do not send me PMs with problems that should be posted in the forums. Keep it in the forums, so everyone benefits
