BleepingComputer.com: Floppy drive being accessed.. but why?

My floppy drive (A:\) is being accessed by something. I couldn't tell you what where and why but I can tell you that it seems to be when I load almost any program in windows... no real rhyme or reason for it. Usually, I would remove the floppy drive entirely seeing as they are becoming more and more obsolete but in this case I need it installed.

It's one of those "just one day it started doing it."

So, here it is.


Is there any way to tell what programs or services may be trying to access my floppy drive?



Windows XP pro, most current updates.
Floppy drive works fine.
All other drives working fine.
Virus scan runs every night with two programs.
