SONY DVD RW DW-D23A Not recognising discs

Ive got a Sony DVD Rewriter and have just tried 2 make a DVD but it doesnt recognise the disc I inserted and I dont know what discs are the right ones! I have the SONY DVD RW DW-D23A.

to burn dvd's you need dvd-r's or dvd-r-w's

Ye I used a DVD RW. I recorded a film on my computer and I tried putting it on to the DVD RW but It was not working.

Sorry about this everyone I wasn thinking I recorded it as an avi file so does anyone know if its possible to convert from avi to dvd?

Maybe you just don't have the right DVD discs!

I know I have the right DVD discs as my problem is solved! I downloaded DVD Santa and have now converted all my avi files to dvd. Thx for all your help! :thumbsup:
