Page 85 talks about how to edit the BIOS, http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/data/7117...1800_ENG_UG.pdf

Louis

I already did all that. Again it only lets me "look" at the BIOS. I cannot edit anything.

you dont need to edit any thing just gotta see if any thing is there
when it comes up there should be some thing at the bottem like scan drives or some thing (cant remeber Lol) and tell it to do that and do tell us what it comes up with above

I tried to look at it, but the windows screen comes up too quickly. When i was able to look at it the info i posted earlier was all I saw.

Sometimes if you hit pause/break when the bios is starting you can see what's listed in startup, and the arrow keys will help to go page by page.

I tried, but it doesn't stop. When i first did it, it didn't move as fast. I don't know why. By the way my DVD drive vanished after I had a spat of blue screen errors. i managed to update windows. That is when I saw the DVD drive gone. I am not certain if it vanished before or after I updated. I did a system restore, but that has not helped.

Have you tried shutting down the computer, disconnecting the drive, rebooting, shutdown, connect the drive, reboot, and see if Windows will recognize the drive?

The drive is internal. I don't know how to disconnect it.
