BleepingComputer.com: processor doubt (pls help me!)

hi, i have a doubt about buying this processor THIS ONE for play crysis so i dont know if with this one i can play at high details..... at the crysis official website i saw the requirements and this one ask for a Core 2 Duo @ 2.2Ghz... so this is my doubt i hope you can help me.

That Core 2 Duo E7400 is 2.8 GHz, that should work.

Remember, the CPU is not the only component Crysis hits hard. A very good GPU is a must for best performance, and even then it may not run fast.

So, like the recommended requirements say that works with a Core 2 Duo @ 2.2, I have a doubt if with this processor runs fine or it can runs at high details...

That part would be more dependent on your video card.

If that is the requirement the C2D 2.8GHz CPU you posted the link to should have NO problem with that game.

If it says C2D 2.2 or better the C2D 2,8 is DEFINATLY better.

The system specifications listed are minimum specs, you should try and aim higher as you would have a far better gaming experience. I'm sure you know this already, but the game can run well on AMD processors too. This is good news if you want to save some cash.

the higher end CPU you got the better. Crysis has a nickname around my neck of the woods as a system killer-it maxes out most of your hardware. or at least it did when it first released, now with more modern video cards it isnt so hard on them, but it still uses a lot of graphics power, CPU power, and ram. so keep that in mind, the better hardware you throw into the computer the better crysis will run.

It can still cause many PC's to choke. This is one of the few games that can actually take advantage of 64-bit and large amounts of RAM in a significant way.

A C2D 2.8GHz is well above the recomended specs.

That C2D 2.8GHz should run pretty much anything you throw at it.

ok I see it will work, if thats true that crysis is a System Killer, a XFX Nvidia 9800 GTX 512mb and 3gb RAM can handle Crysis?

On lower settings yes. Many gamers were upset at the makers of Crysis because the game had low system requirements, but needed a very high powered system to see all the eye candy. An article at HardOCP with Crysis: Warhead, which runs the same engine as Crysis and is identical is many ways to the original Crysis, is an interesting read for performance. On a system using a Core 2 Extreme Quad 9770 OC'd to 3.6GHz, 4GB of RAM, and Vista 64-bit, they were able to get the game to run best on Medium-High (a.k.a. in Crysis as Gamer) visual quality settings with a GTX 280, though a GTX 260 can work too with lower frames per second. At their highest resolution of 2560x1600, they had to lower some of the settings down to medium, or Mainstream, to get the game to work at a playable framerate. Few gamers will actually play the game at this resolution and they don't suggest people try. Instead, a resolution of 1920x1200 offers the best balance. Note, that the Gamer setting is not the highest setting.
