BleepingComputer.com: Corupt Files and Kodak EasyShare

Hi,

I work for an IT company. A customer has brought in a PC, they had Kodak EasyShare version 3 on it originally, she wanted this updated to version 7, which we have done.

For some reason 8 of the hundreds of pictures in the album's have been corrupted and windows won't read them.

Any idea's? I have tried software such as JPEG Recovery PRO v4.0 which kinda worked, they still were a little corrupted but the main reason i didn't use it is because it watermarks the whole image, not really looking to buy a program to do it.

I would buy it if it worked a little better, but this one didn't warrant buying the program.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Kodak scans the computer for images and adds them to the Kodak gallery.
Are the pictures corrupted if viewed from the original file location?
You might have to do a little digging to find out what folder they get sent to if they were transferred from the camera to the computer.
If the pictures are not corrupted in original locations, the client can delete them from Kodak gallery and reimport them.
Hopefully they will be fine.
I have a low opinion of Kodak EasyShare software. It took over and all my pics opened in EasyShare viewer. I spent a while changing the file associations back to Windows picture viewer. I later uninstalled all things Kodak and bought a USB card reader adapter. My new computer has a card reader, which works fine with my card from my EasyShare camera.

I second the opinion on Easyshare

I third the opinion on Kodak EasyShare, and yes, the pictures are corrupted in the original location.
