ok my mother received a bsod one day like 3 months ago and just shut it and put it away for me to take care of. the bsod at that time said to start a scan for viruses. then she booted up fine and dandy than scanned and windows live one care found nothing but she knew that it was bad because i scanned once with one care and found nothing and than scanned with malware bytes and found 230 viruses, mostly vurtamound but i was fine and dandy. than she asked for me to check it out and i checked it out today 3 months later and when i booted up it did a system fail startup and had 5 options, 1. boot windows normal 2. boot windows with the last settings that worked 3. the 3 safe mode choices. so i just pressed enter on the start windows normally, and it went to the xp load scarred and after about .7 seconds it did a really quick flash of a bsod (about .2 seconds) not even enough to read. and than i tried to start on all the other choices and it did the same thing. than i tried a restore and it did the same thing.
the laptop is a Toshiba with 512 mb of ram and 100 gig hd and win xp pro
I don’t have a pro cd only a home cd
