Hey all,
I am looking for a dvd burning software that allows you to burn dvd's and cd's and copy them also the ability to make data cd's and dvd's. I have looked at roxio 2009 but it doesn't make any mention of data cd's or dvd's. So I am not sure that is one of the functions. I don't wanna spend 80 bucks if I can't put files on cd's or dvd's. Is windows alone enough to accomplish this task? Some have said it is not. Also Roxio hasn't exactly got beaming reviews. Is there a program out there that does these tasks that is reliable and is not going to clash with windows vista? I don't have windows vista yet but I am getting it with a new computer that is coming in the next few weeks. Is windows vista as bad as some have said it is. I am getting it with service pack 1 but I don't know if that gets all the kinks out. So if I could get some feedback I would really appreciate it. Thanks and I look forward to speaking with you all in the future.

Roxio isn't all that bad, but has had issues in the past (we use it at work).

Vista is fine, especially with SP1. My Vista system has been running since the RTM came out in late 2006 without any serious issues. Windows 7 will be released in the near future, so you may want to wait for it to come out before investing in a new OS.

Try CDBurnerXP for CDs and Imgburn for DVD burns.
Both are free.

I generally like Nero, even though you have to pay for it or get it from a combo package from say a dvd burner.
