WinDVD is trying to install constantly and says it is searching for Windvd.msi file...as soon as it announces that it cannot find the file or path, it will cancel but then starts the loop over and over... I have deleted every obvious related file having to do with Intervideo software..no change..
Cannot uninstall, reinstall, reformat drive or restore to earlier "restore point" because PC is busy and involved in install function. Any ideas??

Have you tried to do a restore or repair from safe mode? I don't know if you can, but wondering if you've tried..

Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and see if it list Intervideo. Click the box and remove any you find:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
also download Autoruns:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinte...s/bb963902.aspx
and search for Windvd.msi and tick the box by it
