Welcome to Bleeping Computer, a free community where people like yourself come together to discuss and learn how to use their computers. Using the site is easy and fun. As a guest, you can browse and view the various discussions in the forums, but can not create a new topic or reply to an existing one unless you are logged in. Other benefits of registering an account are subscribing to topics and forums, creating a blog, and having no ads shown anywhere on the site. When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix logs. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.
To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

Just wanted to add that I have windows XP home edition..... A few other symptoms: I cannot access task manager by pushing control, alt, delete. I am okay going to google, but then get redirected once I make a website choice. If I click backspace, I will be directed to the site I intended to arrive at. As long as I am at that site, I have no problems. If I choose to open another browser window, with one already open, the system will lock up. My computer is locking up frequently-and the only way I can resolve is by turning it off without shutdown procedure.. I have to click on browser shortcut twice (once-wait-then click again) to get my browser window to appear. This post has been edited by sietskesue: Mar 13 2009, 12:38 PM |

Hello, are you getting a message when you try to access Task Manager?
Let's run these and see what the log shows. From your regular user account.. Download Attribune's ATF Cleaner and then SUPERAntiSpyware , Free Home Version. Save both to desktop .. DO NOT run yet. Open SUPER from icon and install and Update it Under Scanner Options make sure the following are checked (leave all others unchecked): Close browsers before scanning. Scan for tracking cookies. Terminate memory threats before quarantining. Click the "Close" button to leave the control center screen and exit the program. DO NOT run yet. Now reboot into Safe Mode: How to enter safe mode(XP) Using the F8 Method Restart your computer. When the machine first starts again it will generally list some equipment that is installed in your machine, amount of memory, hard drives installed etc. At this point you should gently tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with a Windows XP Advanced Options menu. Select the option for Safe Mode using the arrow keys. Then press enter on your keyboard to boot into Safe Mode. Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program. Under Main "Select Files to Delete" choose: Select All. Click the Empty Selected button. If you use Firefox or Opera browser click that browser at the top and choose: Select All Click the Empty Selected button. If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt. Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program. NOW Scan with SUPER Open from the desktop icon or the program Files list On the left, make sure you check C:\Fixed Drive. Perform a Complete scan. After scan,Verify they are all checked. Click OK on the summary screen to quarantine all found items. If asked if you want to reboot, click "Yes" and reboot normally. To retrieve the removal information after reboot, launch SUPERAntispyware again. Click Preferences, then click the Statistics/Logs tab. Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log. If there are several logs, click the current dated log and press View log. A text file will open in your default text editor. Please copy and paste the Scan Log results in your next reply. Click Close to exit the program. -------------------- Can you spare some PC cycles to help FIND A CURE .. BC FOLDING TEAM Click me /info..

Hi sietskesue, I figured if it wasn't blocked by malware then there would be a error message and we'd have corrected it fom that. So this is good. Be careful when you install apps and games etc... that they don't have Tollbars attached as part of the install. Usually you just have to uncheck a box. I think we'll get a couple more.
Next run MBAM: Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (v1.32) and save it to your desktop. alternate download link 1 alternate download link 2 If you have a previous version of MBAM, remove it via Add/Remove Programs and download a fresh copy.

Ahhh the new kid on the block.Trojan.Daonol
We need to run part 1 of S!Ri's SmitfraudFix Please download SmitfraudFix Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present). Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply. Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user. http://www.beyondlogic.org/consulting/proc...processutil.htm -------------------- Can you spare some PC cycles to help FIND A CURE .. Hi,I'll look into that reaction.. in the meantime we will use others. Tell me how it's running after this.
First run RogueRemover Simply download RogueRemover FREE from the one of the links below. Double click the downloaded file to install the application on your computer. Once the application is installed, double click on the RogueRemover FREE icon to start the program. When the application is open, select Scan and the application will guide you through the remaining steps. Then Rerun MBAM Open MBAM in normal mode and click Update tab, select Check for Updates, when done click Scanner tab, select Quick scan and scan. After scan click Remove Selected, Post new scan log and Reboot into normal mode. Fix the Time. Go to Control Panel. Select Regional and Language Options. In the Standards and Formats section... next to the language you are using... click the Customize...button Press the Time...tab. In the Time Format...box, for 12 hour time display... change the format to: h mm ss tt or hh mm ss tt Select the other display options you want... separator, AM, PM... this is the message that I get from the rogue link-
The RogueRemover product line has been discontinued. The good news is that all of the great core technologies in RogueRemover and more are included in Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. what do you suggest? thanks.. |

Wow ,looks like it's check all my links time again.
Ok then we will run Dr Web Before we start fixing anything you should print out these instructions or copy them to a NotePad file so they will be accessible. Some steps will require you to disconnect from the Internet or use Safe Mode and you will not have access to this page. Please download DrWeb-CureIt and save it to your desktop. DO NOT perform a scan yet. Reboot your computer in "Safe Mode" using the F8 method. To do this, restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly. A menu will appear with several options. Use the arrow keys to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode". Scan with Dr.Web CureIt as follows:
