hmmmm no, it isn't . . . it's a eMachines 2002 computer with windows home XP.
but i'm not get this error when i start my computer, i'm getting it when i try to search for updates for window's defender.
i don't think i've done anything different to my computer lately . . . i stopped some startup services in msconfig like 2 weeks ago and run malwarebyte's trojan removal program, as well as installed a "ghost" drive so that i could play games without putting the CD in the cd-rom drive, but that was like 2 months ago now . . .
not sure what to do here.

Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility - (it will list all programs that use Windows Installer).
Also see How to troubleshoot definition update issues for Windows Defender.
- Double-click on msicuu2.exe and click "Next".
- Accept the license agreement, click "Next", then click "Next" again.
- Click "Finish" when done.
- Go to Start > Programs and click on Windows Install CleanUp to launch the program.
- In the list of Install Products, check to see if "Windows Defender Signatures" are listed.
- If so, highlight that entry, then click on the "Remove" button.
- Reboot when done.
- Then go to Microsoft Update, do an express scan, and see if you can now apply the update.
