Problems with startup, really slow, and maybe some malware.

The computer is an IBM Thinkpad T41 with Windows XP. When the computer starts up the compter will say "ERROR Expansion ROM not initialiazed-PCI on Motherboard" then say F1 for setup. When the computer does start up normally it is unbelievably slow and freezes alot.

My guess would be that it's a networking issue, possibly a BIOS boot option that points to the network.

If you think you have malware issues:

You can try a couple of these free online scanners to see if anything has slipped by your protection:
(Be advised that some of these scanners will pickup things in "quarantine" from other anti-virus programs - so review the results carefully)
