I have a couple of friends that want to reformat a widows Vista PC. Personally i havent messed much with vista yet-
My question is if theres a program/way to partition vista to put wanted files on and then format the main drive.

-Thanks

If you have a partitioned drive then I would think you could do what you wanted and then use system restore if you had to go back. just make sure you have a recent restore point. If not partitioned then I would think you would have to get external backup and move what you want before you go playing around. Not sure if system restore would still work if not partitioned though. I do know if you did wipe it and need restore disk you can get them from the HP website (if you have an HP that is) not sure about dell
