statistics thread

when i close down my pc (windows xp home) just before the desktop disappears, i get, very briefly, a small box with a moving blue bar,telling me that "statistics thread is terminated" . can anyone enlighten me as to what it is for. ive tried googling but found no reference

Have no idea what that is but if there is some thing tracking your statistics I would be running some anti-malware and anti-spyware programs and see if there some thing on your computer that you might not want.

If you are using Firefox there is a Track Me Not under Tools, make sure its checked.

thanks for your interest and suggestions. ive found the culprit, mailwasher pro. will e-mail mailwasher tech. dept. for explanation
