BleepingComputer.com: laptop screen blank

Hi all. My laptop screen has gone dark. I can just about see the startup options if i look at the right angle, in the right light, standing on one leg, rubbing my tummy and patting my head.........you get the idea :-) if i hook up another monitor then this works fine. Is it a case of buying a new screen or is there a fix? Either way where's the best/cheapest place to buy these fixes? Thanx, Steve

Sounds like the back light went out. What kind of laptop is it? Make and Model specific please
