After reading Edelman's scathing review (10/2004) of Grokster's packaged malware practices, I thought it'd be an ideal candidate for inclusion in our "anti-spyware client test matrix."

Alas, it seem's that Grokster's cleaned up their act, as v2.6 doesn't seem to have _any_ malware addons in the package (remarkable!).

I'm assuming that Ben's results are based upon tests with Grokster 2.5 (or 2.4?) ... so I'm wondering if anyone can give me any suggestions on where one could lay their hands on these older Grokster installers?

(BTW, I would've posted this in the Spyware Removal & Malware Self-Help and Reading Room, except that everytime I try to create a new topic there I get the error msg: "Sorry, but you must be a registered member of Bleeping Computer in order to post a new message or a reply to an existing one in our discussion boards." ... which is rather odd, because I am registered, and logged in, when trying to post! Any thoughts as to why this is occurring?)

//Mod edit: I moved your post. PM Grinler about this glitch.
