PC Trouble cannot burn DVDs and edit videos

There is something running in the windows task manager's process that's causing a lot's of problems. I cannot able to burn any DVD's and encode any videos using video editing software. At first i thought it was a malware that's causing this and posted in the malware removal's section of www.forums.spybot.info website, but after few assists they said that there were no malwares present and adviced me to post in the bleepingcomputer.com forums. Please Help. Please Reply And Thank you.

The problem burning dvd's is fairly easily investigated, the dvd encoding is more challenging.

I read your threads, your choice of software left a lot to be desired, in the past we frequently had to do a clean install of windows to get our codecs fixed, your using cracked and infected ones may haver caused terminal damage.

Most video work is very intensive, expect your cpu to max out. Burning should not be.

Let's start with the lower and upper filter drivers

I am not talking about burning or encoding problems. What i mean is, there is something wrong in the windows task manager's Process and Performance.

Reboot your computer, wait a little bit and then open task manager, which process is using a lot of ram and cpu?

I have checked it out. It seems that when i open an app or a prog, the cpu usage rises for about 3-4 seconds and after that it normalises. It kind of slowly loads, earlier on it will load smooth and fast but now it kind of stucks for about 3-4 sec and after that it releases from the stuck and it normalises cpu usage. And earlier on pagefile usage will be around 200-250, bot now it's 416 odd. Mozilla firefox browser and some process name system uses a lot of memoy usage. Please Help.

Turn off system restore for drive D and E

Do you have access to an external hard drive?

When you fill partitions up that much you are in danger of losing your data as it becomes fragmented when you add more.

We need to delete or move as much as we can from all three partitions.

Your system partition, drive C is badly fragmented, make it a priority, do disk cleanup, move what you can off that drive,
then defrag

Do not attempt or even consider defragging drive D or E

I have done defragmenting drive c and minimized space allocation for drive d and e.

Now i could burn DVD's and encode my videos, but it's kind of slow. Some system named process is rnnning and it's using a lot of memory usage. Please Help.

That comodo internet security looks like it would impact performance on an older computer with only 512 megs of ram

Hi DaChew,

Uninstalled COMODO Firewall it did reduce some memory usage of the process named system for sometime but increased later on, and it didn't help improve performance that much.
