I had 2 AU8820 soundcards in my old WIN9X systems and loved them. At the time the best soundcard for gaming there was.....and then Creative got creative with their legal dept and the rest is history. I digress.

Since "VortexofSound" is no more I don't know where to get the full driver package. I seem to remember the whole package was nearly 15-20meg with all of the included demos. It worked on all WIN9X systems, but XP functionality might have been a bit limited. HL1 with an Aureal card was intense in it's day. I don't know if XP drivers were ever made for the 8810, but I do know when the chipset was made WIN9X was the standard OS.

I also had one of these cards, it was fine at the time.

I think that I had difficulty finding drivers the last time that I (temporarily) installed it. I think I used the Win 2K drivers but I'm not sure.

You can get your driver here,

http://members.driverguide.com/driver/deta...driverid=139609

On the right click on Download this file
Select download by vieing a series of ads.
Click No Thanks at the bottom of the ads
[I think there is about 7 of them]
You will end up at the DL page.

Driverguide used to be pretty easy to use.
Awhile back they started with the ads .
