I am trying to help my husband's visiting nurse with a problem he's having on his Acer Aspire 3680 laptop running Vista Basic. It came with Windows Movie Maker 6.0 but shortly after starting the program a message appears that says, "Winodws Movie Maker has stopped working" and then something about trying to find a soluition, but then the program re-starts and has the same problem again.

Some information on the net indicates that some computers running Vista cannot run WMM 6.0 and suggests downloading WWM 2.6, which I did. When we try to run it we get a message that another user is running WMM. I cannot find a way to uninstall or disable WWM 6.0 and I know there aren't two WMM programs running.

Any help to this 74-year old grest-grandmother would be appreciated!

Hi EEBHH,

Here is a link to Thread: On Allowing Movie Maker 6.0 and 2.6 to Coexist

Hope this helps
