Hello everyone!

My question is about the oem retail version of vista ultimate and the vista ultimate "upgrade" are there any differences?

and before you reply yes I know the cost, 32 and 64 bit are the obvious main differences

I'm asking is there a general difference between the two, whether that be files, applications and what not between doing a clean install with a vista ultimate

oem disc or having for example home premium and doing the ultimate upgrade. do you get the same vista ultimate?

Thanks!

vista ultimate is vista ultimate, upgrade or OEM. the difference is if you ever have to reinstall the OS youd have to reinstall the version you upgraded from and then reupgraded I do believe. I like having the OEM version that way I have the entire OS on one disk, but as far as features whether its upgrade or OEM it should all be the same.

What he said ^^..

Anyhow; if you were to really choose, an OEM is a better choice. There isn't a difference, (or atleast there shouldn't be any, if there is, I bet their not major). Vista Ultimate is Vista Ultimate. Personally, if your Running Home Premium, it should be sufficient, unless you want some of the back up and extra features. Besides, no need to fuss. You got OEM all in 1 disk.
Who said I couldn't have everything?
