Hi, I'm new and having a problem. I'm using Windows Vista on a laptop.

It will crash every once in a while with a blue screen and the error will be "BUGCODE_USB_DRIVE". It happened since I got a new external hard drive and I thought that was the problem because I read that error comes from external drives, but it happened when it was unplug so now I have no idea where it's coming from. The only other thing that is plugged in is my charger and my internet so I don't know what to do about it? Also, because my computer has been crashing, it's also been freezing a lot more now and I'll have to restart it in safe mode.

This made be unrelated, but I'm also having a problem with iTunes. Sometimes I open it and it will freeze on the pause button and I'll have to close it and open it again for it to work. I haven't found help on itunes forums, but I think it could have something to do with my computer.

Thanks for any help.

Here's a link to a description of the error message: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms797153.aspx
This usually points to an error with USB drivers - IMO either with the driver for the device itself, or with the USB drivers on your motherboard.

It'd help if you could follow the instructions here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic176011.html
This will give a bit more information about what may be causing the issue.

Beyond that, I'd suggest updating the motherboard/chipset drivers for your system. If you can't locate them, give us the exact make and model of your system.
