Hi hawkwinddotcom,

Mmm, I need to get my old vinyl out again.

Let's see a HijackThis log as well. There may be some more information there. Nothing stands out in your statup list to me, but there are a couple of possibilities. Someone more knowledgeable should be along soon.

Download the attached program called fport.  Extract it to c:\fport.

Click on start then run and type cmd and press OK.

You should now be at a dos prompt.

type cd \fport and press enter

You should now be at c:\fport.  Type fport.exe > fport.txt and press enter.

Then type notepad fport.txt and press enter.  Copy and paste the info in that text file into a reply to this post.

Ok i have another program for you to run and download. THe hijackthis log looks good but there are some programs running which i need to further check out.

Do this:

Download the attachment psservices.zip.  Extract to c:\psservice

Click on start then Run and type cmd and press OK.

At the dos prompt type : cd \psservice and press enter

type psservice config > psservice.txt and press enter

type notepad psservice.txt and copy and paste the info in there into a post here.

I think you may be running some services that you should not be.

THis is what I want you to do. Click on start, programs, administrator tools, Services.

When the services window opens up I want you to shut the following services if they are started by clicking once on them and then clicking on the stop button.

Then double click on the specific services and disable it.

Stop and Disable the following services. I will denote what I think they are and if you think they are legitimate do not disble it:

explore No idea. Shouild not be running though in my opinion.

iFtpSvc Ipswitch WS_FTP Server version

Nofeel FTP Server Service Nofeel FTP Server

SPOOLSVC No idea but does not look good

Reboot your computer, print to your printer, and tell me if its working well.

stopped everything you said apart from spoolsvc and the computer is back to how it should be,,,fantastic

Yeah spoolsvc is definitely not kosher. Get rid of those babies.

If you feel your computer is running properly...you may want to try to uninstall the ftp programs from add/remove programs.

And also delete
