BleepingComputer.com: Using HP recovery CD to install 64 bit vista on a 32 bit computer.

So my wife just bought a new computer a few weeks ago. It's a compaq tower with 64 bit vista home premium preinstalled. I'm just wondering if it would at all be possible to create a recovery disk with her computer then go and use the disk to install the os onto my computer?

I'm not at my home right now so I can't give you the exact motherboard that I'm using but I will let you know that the computer is less than a year old and has 4 GB or ram already installed. We all know that 32bit only reads the 3g. The fact that it came with 4GB installed leads me to believe that my computer would be compatible with the 64 bit software. Also, compaq and HP are the same people anyway so I would think that I would not have any issues from it. I want to say that it's an HP Media Center m8330f but I'm not 100% sure. (Just got home and checked)

Can anybody with more experience give me a hand with this?

It's probably not possible to do this as HP recovery disks are usually tattoo'd with the model of the system to prevent installing it on another computer.
As such, this is a violation of the EULA. We can't help with that here.
