Best programs on a Fresh install

I am looking for the best of the best programs that you install after doing a fresh install. As most of the users on this forum have done this numerous times before it would also be nice to know what you do in addition to installing all your programs again (ie. disabling services).

Once the operating system is install and all the drivers are install I install a firewall and a anti virus, and then I update Windows and then the firewall and anti virus. It's important to update Windows first. After this it's pretty much a personal choice as to what you add. I like having a separate anti spyware and malware application installed.

@dc3 of course you do that.

I am looking more toward what programs do you have to have installed before you really do anything. I know Firfox would be at the top of most peoples list but what else.

To use the computer online it is only really neccessary to have a AV program installed.

I do a LOT of installs.
[doing one now, XP]
My standard method is once XP is installed I install ALL drivers first.
Before I start I go to the manufacturers site & download all of the newest drivers.
I make a folder & name it so I can recognize what it's for.
I then make folders inside that & name them, Chipset, video,LAN,Sound,ETC.
I DL what I'll need & transfer the entire folder to a flash drive
As soon as Windows is up & running I transfer the folder to My Documents.
I then install the drivers.
[I have a pretty good collection of those folders going !]

Once all the drivers are installed I then go online to Google, do a search for AVG free , download it, & install it.
I then install the other programs , [Zip Central, Malwarebytes, Acrobat reader, eyc.
Once I have all installed I do a defrag & then do the Windows updates.

Everybody will have their prefered method but that's what works for me.
OCZ StealthXstream 700W,Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R , E8500, Arctic Freezer Pro 7, 3GB G.Skill PC8500,Gigabyte Radeon HD 4850 OC [1GB ], Seagate 250GB SATA II X2 in RAID 0, Samsung SATA DVD burner.

Here's my list when I reinstalled:

1. Install sound driver
2. Install Microsoft Office
3. Install Encarta
4. Install wireless card
5. Install anti-virus (Avira)
6. Install firewall (Comodo)
7. Install Malwarebytes
8. Install Firefox
9. Install ethernet port
10. Install Windows Updates
11. Upgrade to IE7

I just added SpywareBlaster and WOT along the road.
