BleepingComputer.com: Vista will not start.

Alright so here is my problem. When I start my laptop it will go to the load screen with the green bars scrolling across and wait for some time then restart itself. Once the computer is back on it gives me the options of Safe Mode and Safe Mode with network and so on but the same problem occurs. I then tried to run a start up repair with my Vista disk as instructed in Tutorial 148. The problem I encounter here is that my computer doesn't give me the option to select Vista OS. I followed the Tutorial on how to automatically fix the problem. If you scroll down to figure 4 you will see where my problem is. My computer does not have a Microsoft Windows Vista as an option for me to click. It is blank. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this? Or a possible link to somewhere that has the answer. Even a way to just get the memory off would be helpful. I have 4 years of pictures on there with no back up.


EDIT: Not sure if this matters but its Vista 32 bit.

Depending on the make and model of your system you may have to load drivers for your hard drive controller (usually for the SATA controller).
If it's not that, then it's an issue with your hard drive. To determine that, run a bootable diagnostic available for free from the manufacturer of your hard drive. A list of the more common ones is in this topic: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic28744.html
