If that computer has the ASUS P4S800D-E motherboard it has four SATA headers.
Just to be sure, download SIW, when you open it scroll down to Motherboard and click on this, the model will be shown in the right side pane.

Ok, we are getting some where. First i tried fairjoeblue idea about the cd's and cd drive but it did not work.
I did have a PCI SATA controller lying around so i put it in and installed the drivers for it from device manager/Driver CD using the IDE as master drive. After the drivers were installed it did recognize the SATA drive as being Drive F: but under properties it said the drive was only 4GB and was in FAT 32 format. I then shutdown and restarted the computer with the IDE as master and the SATA hooked to the motherboard SATA port instead of the PCI card. The motherboard does have 2 SATA ports by the way. I went into BIOS set the IDE as harddrive 1-Boot drive and SATA as harddrive 2, saved changes and exited. After getting to windows i checked and the SATA showed up as Drive F: with 4GB and FAT 32 format. So I got the computer to recognize the SATA drive as F: either with the PCI or Motherboard port but now i need to address the 4GB FAT 32 issue. By the way when the SATA is connected to the motherboard the BIOS does list the Drive as being 500GB. I am assuming and correct me if i am wrong that i can load in the Seagate disk wizard and re-format the drive to 500GB? If that works then i will need to address the windows installing problems.
Thanks again,
