Quietman7 ~ You are my new HERO!!

My PC is no longer acting like it was inhabited by malware thanks to you! I followed all of your recommendations TO THE LETTER in "Slow Computer/browser? Clean First! It May Not Be Malware" - including the recommendations in XP Performance Tweaks.

It has been time-consuming, but my PC is now clean, tweaked, defragmented followed by a scan by MalwareByte & a new Restore Point set. Love CCleaner, UltraDefrag & MalwareByte!

However, Microsoft's PageFile Defrag tool will not open/run.
I'm not sure which forum to post this & other questions in a new topic.

Again, thank you so much! :flowers:

You're welcome.

Did PageDefrag give any error messages? You can try Auslogics Registry Defrag as an alternative.

Re: PageDefrag
1. Opens/closes in a Command Prompt window - for just a nanosecond.
2. Registry shows a # of applications unknown to me that may be blocking it.
3. Prefer to 'fix' this problem (if possible) than download any more apps at this time.
Cleanup taught me a lot of lessons & this is one of them! :flowers:
I opened a proper topic this & remaining questions (here).
Hopefully someone will post a viable solution.

Your "Clean First!" advice & a link to BC is going on my blog & to all my friends & family.
You'll soon be called to appear on Oprah & become famous! :trumpet:
If could create a MomsHugs emoticon, the first one would go to you.
