am I fit for a Virtual PC?

Here’s my specs...

1. 225 gigs total 165 gigs left
2. 2000 megs ram (1500 left with current running processes)

what i mainly will be using for...

1. getting virus infections.
(to make the long story short I’m going to do stuff that with kill a normal computer operating system)

im failing to see what your asking about and what your trying to do. perhaps a little more explanation, both in what your trying to do and your exact hardware, and we will go from there.

Primary system: Motherboard: ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3, Processor: AMD Phenom II x4 945, Memory: 8 gigs of Patriot G2 DDR3 1600, Video: ASUS ATI 4890 and a Saphire 4890 in Crossfire, Storage: 1 WD 500 gig HD, 1 Hitachi 500 gig HD, and Power supply: Coolermaster 750 watt, OS: Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.
Media Center: Motherboard: Gigabyte mp61p-S3, Processor: AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+, Memory: 6 gigs Patriot DDR2 800, Video: Saphire 4850, Storage: 500 gig Hitachi, PSU: OCZ Fatal1ty 550 watt modular PSU, OS: Windows 7 Ultimate.

How many cores do you have? You should have at least two if you want to do that.
You can definitely run a virtual PC, but I'd stay away from Vista. As long as you are not running something intensive (which will be pretty much anything other than day-to-day surfing/word processing), you should be OK.
To compare, I have 4 cores with 4GB RAM with XP installed on VMWare, and I have never noticed any slowness at all. Granted, I seldom do anything more than surfing/word processing on this machine.
