BleepingComputer.com: BSOD occassionally after desktop loads

Hi guys. I got a little issue here. I'm getting a blue screen about 15 seconds after my desktop loads. I can't read it though cause it restarts pretty much right after it comes up. But blue screens are never good. I'm pretty good with computers so i'd appreciate any help. i went into the event viewer and saw the following reported as "system error" earlier today when i got the blue screen for the first time.
Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 80635a9d, parameter3 f2ed295c, parameter4 00000000.
also this:
Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 80635a9d, parameter3 f077295c, parameter4 00000000.
and
Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 80635a9d, parameter3 f078295c, parameter4 00000000.
theres a couple others but all really with the same type of message. i also see an error regarding the service control manager. i don't know if this is a big deal or not but heres what it says.
The Message Queuing service depends on the Distributed Transaction Coordinator service which failed to start because of the following error:
The dependency service or group failed to start

this might have been an error when i booted up into safe mode. i'm not sure.

the blue screen doesn't come every time i start up the computer. it comes randomly. i'm going to check to see if theres bad memory in the computer. here's my specs.
Windows XP Media Center 2002 SP2
HP Pavillion DV6000 notebook
AMD Turion 64 Processor
1.61 GHz
480 MB of ram.

Go to Start...Run...and type in "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Scroll down the list to the Distributed Transaction Coordinator service
Right click on it and select "Start" - note any error messages that may occur.

Then, right click on the Distributed Transaction Coordinator service and select "Properties"
Then click on the Dependencies tab.
Do the same thing (in the previous paragraph) to the services mentioned there.

Post back with the results and someone should be able to work from there.

thanks for the reply. i did just as you told and all the services were started already. double checked. everything was good. no errors. hmm. where to go from here?

The STOP 0x8e errors are usually driver issues (as long as you haven't installed new hardware recently). In this case they're causing an access violation while attempting to access memory.
