Do I have to have a natting router to network my home computers? Otherwise, client computers would be concidered to be on different subnets because of isp dhcp right? Also, how else can I set up a home network without a router (I use a switch) .. would assigning dns names to each client work?

what are you doing with a switch is to split the internet wire from one to many wires. Im not sure about this but only with the router you can assign dns names to each client.

Correct me if i am wrong!
