This process runs constantly and uses 90% of my cpu usage, everything's slowed down, stalling, not responding. I'm not computer illitereate, but nowhere near savvy either, forgive me if the terminology isn't 100% correct but I'll try to be as thorough as I can.
All I want to know is if I can safely "end process/end process tree" for -confsvr.exe- in the task mngr?
From what I've learned, this process isn't necessary, whatever it does can be done with " internet connection wizard"
I am still using dial-up.
When I select -confsvr.exe- from the processes list in the task mngr, I noticed in it's properties, in the "compatibility" tab, in the "compatibility mode" nothing is checked off, and Vista isn't among the options.
So should I end the process, and remove the program? Should I try to update, and get this compatible with Vista?
Should i try selecting the latest version of windows in the compatibility mode?
Or have I just demonstrated the "nowhere near savvy either" statement?
Please help, I've been online three hours with, crashes, stalls, restarts...I've gone crazy.
