We launched a tool that I think it should be in everyone should use it when in doubt of your computer security. It scans for keyloggers, rootkits and all the nasty malware outhere. If it doesn't know it, the next second it will be sent for analyzing. BitDefender QuickScan combines intelligent local scanning and in-the-cloud scanning to create an advanced online tool which detects e-threats in memory quickly.

So we invite each and every one of you to try this little tool online at: http://qscan.bitdefender.com Hope you enjoy it and also don't forget to drop us some feedback.

Bitdefender Quickscan is still in it's beta form.

This beta version no longer has the engines downloaded, with any updates in tow, onto the scanned computer. The scanning engines are now left on BitDefender servers, with the local component sending only the relevant bits of suspicious files for analysis. We hope to achieve significant speedups over the traditional solutions," explained Bogdan Dumitru, BitDefender CTO.

So do you have any opinions on this? Things to be improved, things that you don't like at all, anything?

Well, it seems to be a fine Virus Checker. When is the official release coming out?
Who said I couldn't have everything?

If everything goes well and we're pleased with the results it should be ready for a final release in the beginning of May. There is also a need for some more data to properly analyze the files in future scans.

A little update on our little QScan:

QScan is now compatible with Opera, Chrome, Safari, others.
When accessing the site with a browser other than Firefox or IE you should see a warning text instead of the Start button telling you to manually download the quickscan plugin in the plugins folder of your browser.
