Hi, I am a musician, and I want to be able to print on my own CDs, so I am happy to hear from other musicians, and anyone that can fathom out how to print CD's on a HP Photosmart c5380 without using the very basic templates that the machine comes with.

If you want to check out the music, then feel free to go to www.thecutlers.org.uk where you will find some of our myspace sites, this is not drum and bass, more cider and falling down!!!!

and we are all quite old...... that why we cant work out how to print on CD's..... unless its the scrumpy!

Can anyone please guide me to a thread that might help me!

Twurzel

Does the printer even support printing on CDs? I couldn't tell from the printer that it does. It might not support it, and in that case you would need a new printer.

a moderator keeps the forums tidy and overall makes it a better place. They ban users that get out of control, start messing around and keep it organized a bit more.

Don't send it back yet, look through the manuals first and see what it says about it. I'll see if i can help you through the online manuals. I just didn't see how it did it. Most i've seen just haven't boasted that exactly.

You will have to get special blank white CDs. They usually don't cost much more than normal CDs, but I think they are usually a bit more.

The good news is... Yes you can print CD/DVD.
The not so good... you have to use special "printable" disks.
And (always an "and" or "but") It looks like you are stuck using
the HP software to do this. I know nothing about the program, but
I would think you could create the cover art with a graphics program and
import it into the CD printing program.
I use "The Gimp" in Linux, however it is available for Windows and is free.
