Hi.
I was given a DVD disc burnt with a a ton of info which my previous pc read just fine.
I had to rebuild my pc due to the Mobo going down and i bought SATA everything including a new DVD drive..
Low and behold.... now the drive doesn't recognise the disc.. See's it as a blank? Even though you can see there is info on the disc by looking at the underside?
I am running XP with service pack 3
2 gigs ram
ASUS P5Q Pro
Radeon X1950 pro
Any ideas???
Cheers
Chris

Was the disc session closed when burnt with the previous DVD burner? Do you still have said burner?
Hi,
No, that burner went in the bin. Funnily enough, my wife's Mac can see the data no problem at all? Iam not sure about if the session was closed or not. I know it was burned using a dual layer disc burner and a dual layer dsc, of that gives you anything to go on?

is the new drive a dual layer burner? and does it read other burned disks alright? try burning a new disk with it or reading another burned disk and see what it does. also try different brands.
