Where/how does one find out the "version" of any particular software program. I've looled at properties of a program but no good. Its probably simple but this simpleton can do it.

Open the program.
At the top, click Help.
One of he options should be something like; About (the programs name)
Click that.

For example, Firefox would be; About Mozilla Firefox
MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P, CPU: Phenom II X4 955 Deneb BE, HS/F: CoolerMaster V8, RAM: 2 x 1G Kingston HyperX DDR2 800, GPU: eVGA GeForce 9800 GTX+, PSU: Antec TruePower Modular 750W, Soundcard: Asus Xonar D1, Case: CoolerMaster COSMOS 1000, Storage: Internal - 2 x Seagate 250GB SATA, 2 x WD 1TB SATA; External - Seagate 500GB USB, WD 640GB eSATA, 3 x WD 1TB eSATA

You can also do a system "snapshot" using Belarc Advisor (www.belarc.com). Running Belarc Advison will produce a list of your operating system, all of the programs installed on your computer, all of the updates, security status, etc. It has versions and key codes for the installed programs, too. When I was managing a dozen computers, I liked to do a run every few months to keep a record of whether all machines were updated regularly, etc.

Go to your ADD/REMOVE in the Control Panel, the name and version of your programs will be there.
