I didn't know where else to put this. Here's the story. I recently got a portable DVD player. [INSIGNIA portable 8" details :: http://www.sulit.com.ph/index.php/vi...%22+Lcd+screen]. I'm not inclined towards watching movies. Is there anyway to mod this software so that I could read ebooks on it? I had an idea. Say I could convert all my PDF files to some sort of movie file and then play them on the player? Is it possible to convert all these pages into some sort of movie file? Or mod the software to be able to read ebooks on it?

im sure you can most likely transfer the ebook files to a blank dvd. You may have to download a file converter to convert the ebook format to Dvd format.

There is a website where you can convert your ebooks file(s) online, all you have to do is:

1. Goto http://media-convert.com/
2. Convert your ebook (.pdf) file into flash video (.swf) file.
3. Convert your flash video (.swf) file into MPEG-4 (.mp4) file.

Then just burn your .mp4 formatted "ebooks" onto a dvd and it should work. If you don't have a DVD burner program installed on your computer, then search for some on Softpedia.

I hope this works, let me know of your results. ;)

Hey! This thing won't convert my SWF files into MP4! It keeps saying file error.

Oh. Try converting your .Swf file to another format such as MPEG 1 (.MPG) or MPEG-2 (.MPG). If neither of those work, try Windows Media Video (.WMV).

Please let me know if it converted sucessfully.

This doesn't work either. I tried almost ALL the video formats. Doesnt convert to any of them.

I got a video converter from that website. It gives me an error too. It says ths copy may be badly mastered, copyrighted(which it's not) or a file format not supported by it.

Your ebook file may be corrupted, try downloading it again.

And just for verification, what format does it save with on your computer when downloaded? .PDF? You can check by going into the file properties if needed.

After conversion 1 (PDF to SWF) it saves in SWF format. However it does not convert to MPEG.

I checked now. I downloaded the file again and tried other files too. None of them go beyond the SWF stage. Now what?

After you've downloaded your ebook file, what file format is it saved as? If im thinking correctly, it should be .PDF before converting anything. Correct?
