You should probably run a hard drive diagnostic just to be safe. Do you know what brand your hard drive is?
Strange sound coming from my comp when connected to internet.

To find out who the manufacturer is you can download System Information for Windows. Open SIW and look in the Hardware section for Storage Devices and click on that. In the pane on the right you should see Direct Accerss Device, and to the right of this it will show you the manufacturer. Once you know who the manufacturer is you can go to their web site and download their diagnostic tool. There will be instructions as this site for using this tool.

hi, i used the SIW and found out that mine's a Hitachi_DK23DA-30B. I went to hitachi website and found this download page http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/download.htm. There is a download for OGT Diagnostic Tool. Is that the one i must use? it's for Ultrastar 10K300, Ultrastar 15K73 and DK32xx while mine is a DK23 can i still use it?

Use the Hitachi Drive Fitness Test (DFT) from here: http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/download.htm#DFT
