BleepingComputer.com: Outlook 2003

I'm running Windows XP SP3, Office Student-Teacher Edition 2003.
When I minimize Outlook 2003, it goes to the system tray. Then if my wife comes along and clicks it from the Quickstart menu (or worse, double-clicks it), I then have multiple sessions open. Can it be restricted to only open one at a time? This computer is at home with only 2 users.
Preventing this would be so much easier than explaining it.

Close your session.
Then when wife starts it, it will be the only session.
What's the point of minimizing, rather than closing it in the first place?

Sometimes if I'm waiting for an important e-mail, I want to hear it bleep when it arrives, so I don't keep running over to the computer to check it. I use it for a lot more than e-jokes and baby pictures.

Perhaps you can make a rule in Outlook for forward specific person's message to your cell phone.
Of course that requires cell phone being setup for emails.

Are you telling me it can't be done and you're suggesting helpful alternatives, or just that you don't know?

About the only two things you can do is delete the outlook icon from the quick launch icon bar then open outlook, right click on the outlook icon next to the clock and select "hide when minimized". Close and reopen outlook. The next time you minimize outlook, the only way to open it from the taskbar is double click the icon next to the clock. Either way, she's not actually running multiple instances of outlook itself (outlook.exe), only opening multiple wondows. It may help visually if she is only able to see one icon down there though.
Beyond that, it's all user training.
