Two new rogues were released in the last few days that are essentially the same program. The first is HDriveSweeper that pretends to be a privacy protection program. The second program is System Tuner, which pretends to be a system optimization tool. Though the two programs are similar in many ways, the one glaring truth is that they are both fake and do not provide any benefit to your computer.

As usual the information on who owns these rogues is spotty at best. The domains are either hidden in domain privacy or fake information posted to whois. We can see from the web site's IP address, 72.232.186.21, that the site is hosted at the ISP named LayeredTech that is located in Texas. Due to the hosting being in the states, I expect them to be taken off the air sooner than those hosted outside the country.
