Hello
I am using FireFox and have noticed lately that when I type in a search word or phrase in the Google bar and then hit the Enter key nothing happens. I need to use the mouse and click on search. This only happens with certain phrases or words. Anyone experience this??
Thanks in advance
Tom

I just typed
panasonic verses sony digital cameras and it is not working by hitting the "Enter" key. If clicking on search it will say "Did you mean" panasonic VERSUS sony digital cameras. However at times with words spelled correctly it still may not work. I thought it was a spell check thing but it's not

Hmmm works fine for me + i get the correct spelling response.

Try uninstalling and then reinstalling the latest release of firefox.

Do you know when it started to happen, had you installed anything around that time?

It happened before the latest version of FF. Don't know just how long before that however

I was going to suggest to try an earlier version of firefox but it'll be a bit hiss or miss trying to do that.

Try removing everything related to firefox and reinstall, this should clear up and corrupt data etc

I just un installed FF and reinstalled with no change. Should I uninstall and select clear data, etc.? I can get this back through a FEBE backup correct??

Yes remove everything to do with firefox and start fresh.

It could also be an extension cause the problem.....you could try disabling them all and see what happens, if it's ok then try enabling each extension one at a time until something triggers it.

Hello again Emu
I did try disabling the extensions with no luck. I then uninstalled FF including my profile. Installed fresh FF and then restored my FEBE data. I found out everyone should really have a second profile to make FEBE somewhat easy to restore if needed. So that is what I did.
Everything seems to be working correctly now so hopefully that was it

Thank you so much for your help

Ps. is there an easy way to put a FF profile switcher in my startup folder (i think I had one at one time)

Corruption this deep in Firefox may require deleting the Mozilla and Firefox folders in order to get a truly "clean" install.
