OK, so i've been to wikipedia and explored "List of operating systems" article and now i have come down to these desktop operating systems..

1. Windows
2. Linux
3. BSD
4. Solaris
5. React OS
6. BeOS

Do you know any other good and popular operating systems for computers? Please share them..

Edit: Moved topic from XP to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal

There's Plan 9 From Bell Labs, but I've never used it.

Of course there's DOS, but it's no longer developed, I think (but their's FreeDOS). Mac OSX has been successfully installed on Intel-based PC's (but you need a special patch and it's against the Mac OSX EULA.) GNU HURD, I think, is available though most people use GNU/Linux as their kernel rahter than HURD. MorphOS. Lots of 'em, really.
