Hello,

My computer does not recognize the installed driver for a HP-monitor,
it says "generic monitor...".
How do I activate the specific driver for HP in Vista?

Thank you,
Martti

Do you have a specific need for the monitor driver? A special setting or something?
If not, then just leave it as is - one less thing to go wrong.
I haven't installed a monitor driver in years - either on my own stuff or for customers.

Thanks Usasma,

I managed to download a driver that works more or less - some
features that worked on XP are unfunctional in Vista though.
What I really was up to is calibrating the LCD monitor with
Colorvision equipment and in the middle of all fuss saw that
the driver was not there though I had installed it.

What's the exact model number of the monitor?
We can look that up at http://www.hp.com/#Support in order to locate the appropriate driver

Usasma,

Thank you for your commitment.
I will check the model number when back at home
about 9 hours from now.
By the way what is the Knack?

You can click on the link in my sig to hear the .wav of it.
Here's a discussion between a doctor and a mother that describes it....

Quote

Doctor: "It's worse than I feared."
Mother: "What is it?"
Doctor: "I'm afraid your son has ... the Knack."
Mother: "The knack?"
Doctor: "The Knack. It's a rare condition characterized by an extreme intuition about all things mechanical and electrical ... and utter social ineptitude."
Mother: "Can he lead a normal life?"
Doctor: "No. He'll be an engineer."
Mother: "Oh, no! [crying]"
Doctor: "There, there. Don't blame yourself."

Bolding is mine

This page should contain the drivers: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwar...product=3551927

The first link (on that page) is for the driver that you have.
